Tell us about your parish outreach project (follow this link to our survey) and receive a complimentary 3X6 feet Orthodox Christians in Action banner, personalized with your parish name.

How does your parish fulfill Christ’s call to feed the hungry, welcome the stranger, clothe the naked, care for the sick, and visit the imprisoned?

The MISSION of Orthodox Christians in Action is to guide parishes in their efforts to provide charitable and caring ministries in their local community.

Whether your parish wants to get started serving those in need or add to your current outreach activities, Orthodox Christians in Action is a resource to support you through:

  • Sharing best practices (we will share ministry profiles on our website & blog)
  • Providing networking opportunities for parishes
  • Developing resource materials

Did you know? According to a recent study on Orthodox Christian giving in America, “the top three methods that an Orthodox parish can employ in order to inspire parishioners to give more are: a) greater social outreach into local community, b) stronger emphasis on mission and evangelism programs, and c) creating joint programs and ministries with other nearby Orthodox parishes. Less than half of US Orthodox church members are satisfied with the present situation in these three areas of their parish life” (from Exploring Orthodox Generosity: Giving in US Orthodox Parishes, Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States of America, 2014).

Orthodox Christians in Action is an initiative of Outreach & Evangelism and Parish Development of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese.
